Allergy season and using herbs to help

I experiencing allergy symptoms while away with my family. The wind has blown since we arrived and yellow mucus and pressure began to flood my nasal cavity. I am greatful for the herbs I could get here to help me not feel so miserable. The sore throat and dry infamed airways were my first sign which I tried to ignore with little success as things progressed. To ease the sore throat and lungs I used myrrh and frankincense undiluted. A couple drops of each gave me enough relief to get some sleep. Woke up with throat and lungs feeling ok but then it was in my head and muscular achiness accompanying. Not having my herbal arsenal with my while traveling I turned to fresh garlic cloves to fight whatever bacteria had built up in my nasal cavity. I am die hard and eat them raw with a water chaser but a garlic vinegar or garlic infused honey would be great in this situation. OSHA root tincture is so wonderful for upper respiratory issues and both of these herbs have helped so much so that I could function. The poor people at the whole foods must have really enjoyed my garlic myrrh stench as I bought fresh veggies. He he:)
if you need OTC meds for your allergies, these can help symptoms, but these herbs will fight bacteria, ease inflammation and relieve the pressure if it is not too far gone within an hour(at least for me)

stinging nettle is a great preventative for allergies as long as you have been using it regularly for several months. So if you want nettles to help and you have not been consuming, try freeze dried nettle capsules. Mt rose herbs sells them I am pretty sure. A homeopathic remedy by bio allers is a great remedy too. I do not have with me, but I usually take a dropperful of bio allers everytime I feel badly so if is a few doses more than what they recommend.

Well wishes everyone!!!

  1. I have had wonderful relief from my allergies by taking grapeseed extract. It has really long lasting effects. I live in Lexington, KY which is always top of the list for worst cities to live in if you have allergies and since taking the GS extract I can actually breathe out of both nostrils.
