The coolness of the air transforming from a powerful hot warming to the cooling down and harvest. It is amazing how nature has perfectly given us short spaces of time in which things happen, change, transform or emerge. Powerful indeed!
When the cool weather begins, something inside urges us to create. More than likely an inbred sense that winter is coming and to prepare for that with storing, canning, drying, or for an herbalist, making sure you have your winter medicines put up.
But also, having fire (in our case the stove) and making things with warmth is a very nurturing process that gives us a sense of accomplishment and promotes well being.
It is funny how we think of well being as vitamins, exercise, and herbal care, but we CANNOT forget about the emotions and nurturing the inner person.
Through creativity, we can communicate what is going on inside of ourselves and let them come out in what we do.
Yes, sometimes we are not very elegant, nor accomplished in what we create. In fact, I often wish I were much more able to make the amazing things other people do, but none the less, doing something with the creative spark is far more valuable to me than doing nothing at all.
So my word of encouragement today is to craft, dry, put up, or even rearrange some things in your home to spark that newness you can feel in the air. There are ancient cultures that began their new year in the fall. And so interesting, it feels new sometimes when autumn arrives.
So here is the crafting we have been doing at my place. The above picture is of a beautiful beeswax candle I made, thinking of a rustic theme. Oven roasted rose hips and cinnamon sticks adjoin the hips along with a beeswax star. The candle I painted with thick beeswax, the consistancy of a salve and added clove to it.
I have made several others as well that have been really fun.

Soapmaking has been a fun advventure. Joel, of Jackson Hole Soap Company died the past month and I inherited his supplies. In the supplies were some things I usually do not use, so I have been playing with my newly inherited gifts and it has been a lot of fun.
Expressing myself with
Water Blessing, which is a gathering of music and energy and love dedicated to the waters of the planet

Evening Sky
observing the way the clouds float by and the purple hues over the mountains

Cocoa Orange which I love to stroke the cake before cutting because it feels so amazing. I love cocoa butter soaps and I should make more of them because they are so beautiful and feel so nice! I have a matching lotion bar as well on my etsy shoppe and HC

Ancient Goddess to represent the goddess within. This is a cocoa soap made with lots of rich cocoa butter and scented with ylang ylang, patchouli primarily. Then after that has set up a few days I poured it with a soap base rich in shea butter, orange, rose and rose clay. Each bar has an artifact of a goddess. This reminds me so much of my friends trip to south america. Although we did not specifically about finding something like this, this design was stuck in my head, as if I were there and found an old ruin with a goddess embedded in something that had been buried a long time ago.

Today I am working on a Raven soap for Samhain/Halloween.All I know is black will be in it and hoping to create a great representation for the ancient messanger...not the big birds that eat the garbage:) Ravens are considered sacred in old time traditions so I hope to impart that for the next holiday season. Also this will be mind and respiratory system clearing...I mean come on, if a messenger is coming to you, you want a clear head, eh? :) Another fun Dragon Lady Tea collaberation.
Love to you all and have a fabulous week. If any of these items interest you, they will be available at both my shoppes or you can email me if you need it sooner than I list.
Blessed Be dear ones!
Kristena
